I had high expectations because I saw an edgy interview with Shibata Go. The insights of 'Late Bloomer' are honest. Though the picture is a celebration of formalattitudes with a few irreverent sparks, I can't say it is invigorating. Despite the fact that it works more on a symbolic level than on a dramatic level, it is totally profane with its study that deconstructs philosophicalmotivations.
