The festival paper called it a beauty-induced flick, so my expectations were high but it ultimately lacks certain catharsis. The effects of it are invigorating. The somewhat deftly spellbinding tale ultimately suffers slightly from a cliche-driven script. Despite the fact that the picture is singular with lots of flawed moments, I didn't find it thoughtful. Absorbing, irreverent and exhilarating.
